Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we were unable to take spring bear hunters but that didn't stop us from baiting. We made sure to get all of our baits out to ensure the bears were well fed and stayed in the area.
We put the baits out around the same time as usual and the bears were quick to get on them. Over the last couple of years we have been using oats, fryer grease, trail mix, candy corn, graham cracker and beaver/pork meat. We've found this to be a good variety of food and seems to have the bears coming back consistently. The bears showed no exception to this mix this spring and gobbled it up very quickly. We're looking forward to the fall where the bears will be fat and stupid!
